The early years
I've been hooked on car audio since I was 16. It started when I received a hand-me-down Ford Escort and wanted a tape player put in. Once I saved money for it and bought it, I was told by a buddy he could put it in for me. After removing the stock radio and having a hole in my dash for months my mother paid for the installation for me as a christmas present. That was nice but I had to know how they did it, so the day I got it back I promptly took the dash apart. It's been all downhill from there. I worked 4 jobs in the summer to be able to pay off my car insurance and have spare cash for stereo equipment. Eventually I bought my first subwoofers (Kicker 8"s) before I had even heard a subwoofer in a car! I remember the first day I hooked them up,well "it" I should say, I bought the wrong ohm load for the amp, could only run one, live and learn. I sat in that car listening to it for hours in the baking sun with the front seats out, just amazed. I just had to have more.

The obsession grows
After highschool I went to college for Mechanical Engineering were I continued to crave car audio. These years were rough, I has busy with school, but I couldn't get enough of car audio. To make it worse I was broke and going further into debt with the school loans, this made upgrades few and far between. Summer was my only time for car audio. This however is when I found that I loved to build stuff, anything in fact. I can't stand to buy something if I can make it myself. This is when I became a true "Do it yourselfer). I began experimenting with fiberglass and other install skills.
After School
After college I actually had some money to play with. I got an apartment with a garage and began to experiment even more. Unfortunatly I didn't have to tools needed to get to crazy at that time. I was also obsessed with getting out of debt, so I really put a limit on my car audio spending. Eventually I did get out of debt, and the fun began. My job eventually moved me to a small town in Eastern PA where there isn't much going on. So what is a guy to do? That's right, car audio. I finally found a place with a garage that I can get some work done in. I've outfitted myself with the tools necessary to do the kind of work that has been flowing around in my head for years. Soon after moving in word got out in this little town that I had had a place to install, as a few guys in town had seen my IASCA final qualifying competition truck from the year before (which I built in my 7'x12' attic with a jigsaw and a dremel). Now I have guys knocking down my door to do crazy stuff to there cars. I do what I can, but I only have so much time. Unfortunately this time doesn't allow much time for my own truck, who's install I'm affraid is much further behind schedule than I would like.
